In 1928 Los Angeles, single mother Christine Collins comes home from work to find her son has vanished without a trace. Months later, the LAPD claims to have found him, but Christine believes the boy brought back to her is not her child. Refusing to accept the police version of events or abandon hope, she pushes for the truth and uncovers signs of deep corruption.
