Willowdean “Dumplin’” Dickson is a plus-size Texas teenager and the daughter of a former beauty queen who runs the local Miss Teen Bluebonnet pageant. Determined to challenge ideas about measuring up and fitting in, she signs up as a protest. When other contestants follow her lead, her stand begins to shake up the pageant and the small town around it.
