In 1910s London, snobbish phonetics professor Henry Higgins takes on a wager built around speech, manners and class. Convinced of his own skill, he sets out to transform Eliza Doolittle, a crude flower girl, into someone who can pass as presentable in high society, turning a bet into a test of language, status and identity.
