During the Civil War, Union prisoners escape a stockade by hot-air balloon, joined by a Confederate and a civilian. Their flight carries them far from the battlefield to a strange island in the South Pacific, where giant plants and animals make survival a constant challenge. Stranded and far from home, the group must rely on ingenuity to face the island’s dangers and find a way back.
