Fred Z. Randall, a geeky spacecraft designer, gets an unexpected chance to fulfill his dream of traveling to Mars when he joins a NASA mission to the red planet. But Fred’s accident-prone, obnoxious ways quickly unsettle his new colleagues, and during the flight he puts himself and the crew in serious danger.
