After spending his entire life locked away in a dark cell, with no sunlight and no contact with another person, a man known only as the Captive is suddenly released into the outside world. Thrust into society as an adult with no experience of ordinary life, he must confront everything others take for granted and begin learning, for the first time, what it means to live among people.
