On the Fourth of July in Los Angeles, Jamie, a broke illustrator already behind on rent, tries to make the most of the holiday by hosting a cookout while his overbearing roommate is away. What should be a simple gathering quickly turns into a string of problems, as Jamie struggles to keep the day on track while everything around him seems to go wrong.
