As World War I draws men away to the army, a British choral society is left struggling to continue. The demanding Dr. Henry Guthrie steps in to lead the group and turns to local teenagers to fill the missing voices. As the boys learn the discipline and joy of singing together, they also face the shadow of their own approaching conscription.
