Tess, a crossword editor at the Sentinel, is drawn into a police investigation when clues from her recent puzzles appear to connect to unsolved crimes. After a crossword is found on the murdered owner of a burglarized art gallery, Tess begins spotting patterns that may help the case. As she runs a crossword tournament, detective Logan slowly comes to accept her insight and assistance.
