At the onset of World War II, a German soldier is sent to Holland to investigate whether the Dutch resistance has planted a spy inside the secluded home of Kaiser Wilhelm. As he probes the household of the exiled German monarch, suspicion and deception surround him. His mission grows more dangerous when he falls for a young Jewish Dutch woman connected to the world he is trying to uncover.
