In the aftermath of World War II, free-spirited writer Juliet Ashton becomes drawn to the residents of Guernsey Island and their unusual book club, the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. As she sets out to write about the group formed during the island’s wartime occupation, Juliet builds an unexpected bond with its eccentric members and begins to sense a secret they are afraid to reveal.
