Eighty people from different walks of life suddenly vanish from a Los Angeles street and reappear in an unknown place. Among them are a cancer survivor, an amputee, several immigrants, and many others, all forced into a brutal race with rules delivered inside their heads: stay on the path, do not touch the grass, and do not get lapped twice. Breaking the rules means death, leaving them no choice but to keep running.
