Amid the social horrors of military uprisings in Africa, Miguel, a courageous Spanish doctor, risks his life to bring medical care to people caught in the violence. As he works in dangerous conditions, his relationship with another volunteer is tested by the crisis around them, fading under the strain and then finding the possibility of renewal.
