Chicago psychiatrist Judd Stevens is drawn into a murder investigation when one of his patients is found stabbed to death in the city. After his secretary is also killed, the police begin to see him as their prime suspect. Insisting that someone is trying to frame him, Stevens struggles to convince the authorities of his innocence and is forced to look for the real culprits himself.
