In 1930s baseball, Roy Hobbs, a middle-aged unknown batter with a mysterious past, appears seemingly out of nowhere and joins a struggling team at the bottom of the league. With an almost supernatural talent at the plate, he begins to change the team’s fortunes and draws attention as his unlikely rise turns him into a legendary figure in the sport.
