In late 1950s New Mexico, as the space race begins to shape the public imagination, two radio-obsessed teenagers spend a night tuned in to the airwaves. One is a switchboard operator, the other a radio DJ, and together they pick up a strange signal on a local frequency. As they try to understand what they are hearing, the night becomes a defining moment for them and for their small town.
