Sydney Bristow agrees to work as an international spy for what she believes is a secret branch of the CIA, a life of secrecy that strains her personal relationships and love life. But her dangerous double life becomes even more complicated when she discovers her employer is not connected to the CIA at all, but to a criminal organization called the Alliance of Twelve, forcing her to become a double agent for the real CIA.
