In a rough South Central Los Angeles neighborhood, four smart, funny and streetwise lifelong friends start high school and face new pressures that test the bond they have always relied on. As they navigate classes, growing up and the realities around them, the group tries to help one friend get out of a gang, while friendship begins to shift into something more.
