James, a disgraced firefighter turned young grifter, sees an illicit chance to pull his life out of its downward spiral. His target is Pastor Byron Brown, a man who seems vulnerable enough to prey on but proves far more dangerous than he appears. As James and Byron try to outplay each other, a strange cast of Coen brothers-type characters complicates every move.
