In 1990-something, Lainey has yet to find the rock ’n’ roll success she dreamed of, so she returns to William Penn Academy in a new role as the school’s music teacher. This spinoff of The Goldbergs follows the academy’s faculty as they juggle eccentric habits and messy personal lives while still showing up as unlikely heroes for their students.
