A Cambodian-Filipino doctor comes to the United States seeking medical treatment for her ailing son. When the system fails them and forces her into hiding, she refuses to be pushed aside. Using her intelligence and nerve, she takes work as a cleaning lady for the mob and begins navigating a dangerous world on her own terms while fighting to save her child.
