A Cambodian-Filipino doctor comes to the United States seeking medical treatment that could save her ailing son. When the system fails her and forces her into hiding, she refuses to be pushed aside. Using her intelligence and resolve, she takes work as a cleaning lady for the mob and begins navigating a dangerous world on her own terms.
